    UK premiere of American Epic launches Southern Fried Festival

    Perth’s Southern Fried Festival of American roots music will kick off on Thursday 28 July with the UK premiere screening of American Epic: Out of The Many, The One, narrated by Robert Redford - a “sneak peek” of a major new television series American Epic for BBC Arena and PBS.

    Main stage gig tickets are selling fast for this year’s Southern Fried Festival of American roots music in Perth from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 July. Both Friday’s and Sunday’s Perth Concert Hall concerts with Mary Chapin Carpenter and Nick Lowe, Paul Carrack and Andy Fairweather Low are sold out and it is standing room only for Imelda May in Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 30 July.

    Southern Fried Festival debut for young Perth band

    Perth band Løngstay will make their Southern Fried Festival debut on the free Outdoor Stage on Perth Concert Hall Plaza on Sunday 31 July.

    Callum (15), George (17) and Malcolm (15) are particularly looking forward to their performance as Løngstay appears directly after the members of Southern Fried Rock Shop, the week-long Americana workshop at Clearwater Studios where the band met.

    The Southern Fried Festival free Outdoor Stage on Perth Concert Hall Plaza has become a firm festival favourite since it launched in 2014. Now, thanks to a new sponsorship agreement, Southern Fried 2016 will introduce a second free daytime stage, The John Ross Hi-Fi Acoustic Stage in association with Goldrush Records and Naim Audio in Perth Concert Hall’s Norie-Miller Studio.
