    Local sponsorship brings Nicola Benedetti back to Perth

    Popular violinist, Nicola Benedetti is making a welcome return to Perth Concert Hall helped by sponsorship from Blackadders Solicitors. 

    The Scottish musician, a favourite with Perth audiences and a regular visitor to Perth Concert Hall, will perform string quartets by Beethoven and Shostakovich alongside Yume Fujise, Benjamin Marquise-Gilmore and Leonard Elschenbroich on Saturday 30 September.

    World premiere translation of Mozart Opera in Perth Concert Hall

    This year, Ryedale Festival Opera tours to Perth Concert Hall to perform John Warrack’s new translation of Mozart’s comic opera La Finta Giardiniera – The Garden of Disguises on Thursday 21 September. Conducted by the acclaimed Eamonn Dougan, the opera is directed by Nina Brazier – ‘one of Britain's leading young directors of opera’ The Observer – with a cast of award-winning young singers and players from the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Experience Ensemble.

    Billy Fury died on 28th. January 1983 aged just 42 - the same age as Elvis. He had suffered ill health throughout his life.

    The people of Perth are being invited to test out the transformed Perth Theatre before it takes off for a new generation of theatre!

    As the countdown to the completion date continues, the Perth Theatre team is working closely with the building contractors to prepare the launch of the transformed venue.

    Thousands of costumes from countless Perth Theatre productions will go on sale from 1pm until 6pm from Monday 4 to Wednesday 6 September.

    The sale of surplus stock at the Perth Theatre Scenic Stores, Inveralmond Industrial Estate, Ruthvenfield Grove, Perth, PH1 3UQ is a chance for local groups and individuals to give a good home to a piece of Perth Theatre history!  

    Clothing, accessories, hats and shoes from all eras and productions, and even Perth's famous pantomime will be up for grabs.
