One of the oldest string instruments, the lute inspired composers as great as John Dowland and JS Bach to write some of their most memorable music, which modern guitarists are re-discovering. Rising star Samrat Majumder plays exquisite works by both composers, alongside an exciting new commission and a set of historic Scottish melodies.
