Dunedin Consort: Sean Shibe - Scottish Lute

After collaborating in 2024 to commission Cassandra Miller’s guitar concerto, Chanter, Sean and Dunedin Consort dive into the archives of the National Library of Scotland to explore more of the Scottish lute tradition. Taking an intimate consort of just lute, two violins, two violas, and cello, we’ll be borrowing, arranging, and reviving everything from dance suites to sacred motets.

John Dowland Lachrimae
Christopher Simpson Suite in Bb Major from Twenty Ayres for Two Trebles and Two Basses
Jean-Baptiste Lully Airs and Dances from Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme
A selection of traditional tunes from the Panmure, Bowie, MacFarlane, and Rowallen Manuscripts
