Horsecross Arts, the creative organisation and charity behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre is looking for people with an interest in the arts and a range of business experience to join its Board of Trustees.

Although the organisation is casting the net far and wide to strengthen its Board with a new Chair and additional Trustees as it rebuilds for the post-pandemic future, it has a particular interest in working with people who have a strong understanding of its local communities.

Board Trustee and Chair of the Nominations Committee Amina Shah said:

“Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre play an essential part in the economic and social wellbeing of the city. They are more than just venues, they are places that bring people together in the shared joy of performance and participation. It has become increasingly clear during these times of crisis, how much people value the importance of the arts and how much they are missing gathering in these beautiful places. It is to Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre’s huge credit that they have programmed such an exciting mix of online concerts, theatre and activities to sustain and entertain the community while they can’t come through the doors.

“As Horsecross Arts emerges from the pandemic and looks to rebuild for the future, there is an exciting opportunity for people with an interest in the organisation to be right at the heart of the strategic planning and decision making that is crucial to its future success. We know there’s a whole lot of talent, expertise and love for the venues out there, and now is the time for people to come on board and share their skills to help Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre continue to do what they do best - to serve audiences and communities with an exciting mix of theatre, music, comedy and participatory projects.”

The voluntary Board Chair and Trustee roles are open to anyone over the age of 18 who has the time and enthusiasm to commit, but Horsecross Arts is particularly interested in hearing from people with experience in financial and risk management and marketing. Applications from members of communities currently underrepresented on the Board of Horsecross Arts would be particularly welcomed.

Applications close on 11 January 2021. For further information about joining the Horsecross Arts Board click here.
