Perth Theatre is holding a series of creative fan groups in the run up to Oh When The Saints, a new show about the Perth club and its supporters.

Taking place fortnightly from Thursday 3 February until Thursday 31 March, the free two-hour sessions are open to all ages. They are an opportunity for anyone who loves football and/or performing, who may be interested in taking part in Oh When The Saints as part of its community cast.

Kicking off the programme on Thursday 3 February, Pump it up! [The Music] with musician and composer Gary Cameron is for anyone who fancies being a musician but doesn’t know how to play an instrument. Participants will jam along and learn how to make music out of footballs, referee whistles, old boots, tin cans and other objects. Saints in the Community want to hear fan’s Tales from the Turnstiles on Thursday 17 February in this session about football memories and stories. Professional actor and lifelong St Johnstone fan Colin McCredie runs a taster acting session in Star of the Saintees Stage on Thursday 3 March. Songs for St Johnstone with professional musician Stuart Nisbet on Thursday 17 March is a songwriting workshop tasked with coming up with another great song for Saints fan to sing. Dogger Saints will be creating a live podcast with wannabe commentators and pundits who can make a big noise about the club in Perth Pundits on Thursday 31 March. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about Oh When The Saints and how to get involved in the show.

Bookable through the Perth Theatre website, the sessions take place in The Space, Perth Theatre between 6pm and 8pm and are free to attend.

Oh When The Saints runs in Perth Theatre from Thursday 2 until Saturday 18 June. Made with and for St Johnstone fans, this new show is all about Perthshire’s finest football club and the community that supports it.
