Messiaen Quartet for the End of Time

Soloists of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra
Steven Osborne, piano

Messiaen’s Quartet has become a true classic of 20th century music. Composed during WW2 amid the privations of a German prison camp, it is a work of deep spirituality and boundless, cathartic energy – a profound meditation of the nature of God. Steven Osborne, one of the world’s leading interpreters of Messiaen’s music, leads an ensemble perfectly attuned to this great work’s qualities.
