Scottish Opera return with a lightly staged concert performance of
Cosi fan tutte, the third and last of Mozart’s great collaborations with the librettist Lorenzo da Ponte. Don Alfonso, the opera’s cynically manipulating master of ceremonies, declares ‘They (women) are all the same’ and bets Ferrando and Guglielmo he can prove that their fiancées will be unfaithful. The two agree to the challenge, but will the cynic be proved right or will love endure?
The complex, sometimes disturbing psychology of human relationships is the subject of this subtlest of comedies. Scottish Opera has brought together some of our finest young singers to bring the sophistication and profundity of Mozart’s glorious score to life.
