International concert pianist and broadcaster Kenneth Hamilton takes us on a virtuoso tour with Franz Liszt in 1840s Scotland - playing some of the pieces he played, and vividly describing the triumphs and tribulations of his motley band of fellow artists as they travelled shambolically, and not always soberly, from Portpatrick to Edinburgh. It was a logistical nightmare; a financial disaster - but with some well-known and wonderful music along the way.
