Perth Piano Sundays
Beethoven Bagatelles Op 33
Haydn Sonata in C minor Hob. XVI/20
Beethoven Variations on 'La Stessa La Stessissima'
Thomas Adès Darknesse Visible
Beethoven Sonata in A flat major Op 110
Imogen Cooper's performance of Mozart with the BBC Scottish last year was so wonderful that we invited her back. One of today's best loved pianists offers us music by three masters. Haydn's Piano Sonatas are an endless fund of wit, charm and invention, Thomas Adès is the most acclaimed British composer of today and they are perfectly set in a framework with the great genius that is Beethoven.
'anybody who attended those recitals will have been captivated by the rapt atmosphere of them, and by the way Cooper struck a balance between the music's grandeur and intimacy, its boldness, delicacy and grace' Daily Telegraph
