The Monday Night Thing presents
Helias was formed in 2016 to perform instrumental music written and arranged by Simon Jauncey. Drawing on the best local talent from across Perthshire and Strathearn, the band switches between poignant melodic themes, big cinematic textures & downright funky soul jazz grooves!
Simon is joined by virtuoso sax player and guitarist Leon Thorne, local guitar hero Pete Caban, bassist Ruairidh McLean, drummer Doug Alec Rees and Alan Sutherland on keyboards.
Simon Kennedy Band will co-headline with Helias.
Following on from their well-received debut, The Simon Kennedy Band release their new album, All Or Nothing
in January 2019. Firmly rooted in the blues, The Simon Kennedy Band also draws on jazz, funk, rock and gospel influences to share personal songs of love, life and loss. A guitar and organ driven blues trio, the band was formed in 2014 by Dundee born guitarist Simon Kennedy with Mirek Hodun on keys and Richard Kennedy on drums.
