Blue Rose Code returns to the Perth Theatre with a very special show. In the run up to his eagerly anticipated new album, Ross Wilson brings his band and Seonaid Aitken's string quartet to preview the new songs alongside fan favourites. The evening will also see a reunion with Southern Fried Voices, marking the passing of much-missed choir stalwart, Mary Jones and an opening set from Perth’s own Katie Whittaker.

Wilson says, "There is a magic, an energy about that beautiful old theatre. Playing at Southern Fried in 2018 with the choir remains one of my fondest memories of performing. The stage, the setting, the stalls, it's going to be an unforgettable night in Perth."

A nomad, both geographically and musically, Ross Wilson aka Blue Rose Code writes straight from – and to - the heart. His songs address universal themes of love, loss, travel, home, accepting the past and embracing the future in a deeply personal way. They are variously painted with the vibrant colours of folk, Americana, jazz, country, soul and pop; an eclecticism that has become a hallmark of his work and which has seen him compared to John Martyn, Van Morrison and Tom Waits amongst others.

Wilson has spent the past few years producing four hugely acclaimed studio albums, most recently, The Water of Leith, named by The Skinny as its Album Of The Year. Collectively, they have featured such luminaries as Ewan McGregor, Danny Thompson, Nashville gospel legends The McCrary Sisters, Karine Polwart, Julie Fowlis and Beth Nielsen Chapman.
