Perth Piano Sundays
Beethoven 7 Bagatelles Op 33
Bartók from Mikrokosmos (selection)
Debussy Images, Book 2
Brahms Intermezzi Op 117
Eric Satie Embryons Desséchés
Dohnányi Rhapsody in C major
Perth born Alasdair Beatson offers us as wide-ranging and thought-provoking programme as you could hope for. The rich romanticism of Dohnányi contrasts with the effortless classicism of Beethoven and the astringent rhythmic drive of Bartók counters the silky beauty of Debussy's 'Images'. Add in a bit of quirky Satie and some late and mellow Brahms and you have a concert to die for!
