The people of Perth can give the theatre lover in their life the gift that lasts a lifetime by dedicating a seat in the soon-to-be transformed Perth Theatre!
A gift of £250 or more will secure a seat with a personally engraved plaque in the new Studio Theatre while £400 or more secures a seat dedication in the restored Edwardian auditorium.
Dedicating a seat is just one of the many fundraising options on offer as Horsecross Arts works to raise the final £1.5m to fully kit out the restored and redeveloped Perth Theatre when it reopens in late 2017.
The creative organisation behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre already has pledges of £15.1m towards the £16.6m transformation from project partners Perth & Kinross Council, Creative Scotland, The Gannochy Trust, the Heritage Lottery Fund, other trusts and foundations, individual donations and other supporters and funding bodies.
Launching the final fundraising push which centres around a large Transform Perth Theatre display in Perth Concert Hall featuring video clips and quotes from actors, staff members, audiences and community participants, Louisa Evans, head of development for Horsecross Arts, said:
“As a charity, we are relying on our audiences, visitors, local businesses, communities and supporters to help us raise the final £1.5m needed to fully kit out the restored and redeveloped Perth Theatre. There are loads of ways for people to play their part, from putting a few pounds in one of our collection tins, buying a Perth Theatre supporter’s badge for £20 or more right up to a gift of £1000 or more for an acknowledgement on the Perth Theatre Donor Wall. Businesses can get involved through one of our many sponsorship opportunities.
“We have been overwhelmed, so far, with the support we have had for the project which will secure the historic theatre for future generations to enjoy. We hope that the people of Perth will rally round to help us achieve our goal and play their part in preserving this truly unique venue we are all lucky to have in the heart of our city.”
