Panto fans are in for an extra treat as Perth Theatre’s family pantomime will star not one, but seven dames this year!

Scotland’s leading panto dame, Perth favourite Barrie Hunter will play up to seven dames in a quick-change frenzy in Snow White and the Seven Dames in Perth Theatre from Saturday 1 December until Saturday 5 January.

Directed by Perth Theatre’s artistic director Lu Kemp, tickets for Snow White and the Seven Dames go on sale on Friday 25 May. Families can expect the usual fun, laughter, songs and silliness that makes Perth panto the best in the land!

Lu Kemp said:

“Perth’s family panto is the highlight of the year at Perth Theatre, one the whole company loves bringing to the stage and to our audience. Our dame Barrie Hunter is much loved locally, and this year’s panto celebrates with not ONE but SEVEN dames.”

Snow White never asked to be beautiful. She never asked to be given a name that reduces her to her perfect complexion. It’s particularly embarrassing now that she has a bout of acne... Since her father married that awful witch, she spends hours alone in her room. When her evil stepmother makes her first attempt on Snow White’s life, Snow White decides it’s time for a change. She’s going undercover and in disguise: Snow White, no more! But she still must save her father and regain her kingdom. And all this, while aided and abetted by not one but seven dames who have decided they are taking young Snow White under their bat-wings.

Barrie Hunter, who will be co-directing the panto, said:

“I’m very excited to be back in Perth again for panto this year! There’s going to be loads of fun and frolics, plenty of  madness and mayhem, not to mention pure hunners of sweeties and slapstick!! And once you multiply that 7 times over, well...I’ve never been great at maths, but- I do know that’s a LOT of sweeties!!”

Sponsored by Thorntons Solicitors, Snow White and the Seven Dames is in Perth Theatre from Saturday 1 December until Saturday 5 January (previews on Friday 30 November and Saturday 1 December matinee).
