Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre have got a menagerie of autumn/winter shows lined up including a mini-series of dedicated kids shows in Perth Theatre!

Scottish Opera’s BamBinO is a colourful and interactive introduction to opera for children aged 6 to 18 months, Catherine Wheels presents the charming tale Martha (aged 4+), Is This a Dagger? by Andy Cannon is a one-man Macbeth for young audiences – and Barrowland Ballet’s Tiger Tale (age 7+) tells the story of a visiting tiger in an explosion of colour and movement. A vibrant retelling of Black Beauty (age 5+) will delight fans of the book and TV show and introduce a new generation to the classic tale.

Perth’s family panto Snow White and the Seven Dames in Perth Theatre is the usual madcap mash-up of songs, laugher and silliness. And, in a Christmas treat for the youngest family members, the super cute The Polar Bears Go Up! comes to Perth Theatre’s Joan Knight Studio for a fun festive run.

And from polar bears to piano concerts, tribute acts to TV stars, gripping drama to girls’ night out fun, opera to The Osmonds, the new season is bursting with shows and events to keep everyone entertained.

Kicking off in September and running through to Christmas and beyond, Perth Concert Hall’s classical music programme is a carefully curated collection of regular series and one-off spectaculars. Lunchtime Concerts, Perth Piano Sundays and Perth Concert Series featuring Scotland’s top orchestras, all make welcome returns with an exciting combination of new faces and familiar favourites. Russian State Opera presents Bizet’s dramatic opera Carmen, Scottish Opera mixes it up with extracts from the world’s most popular operas in Opera Highlights; ‘The People’s Tenor’ Russell Watson will seduce audiences with his Canzoni d'Amore.

There will be jaw-dropping dance routines from Britain’s Got Talent stars Flawless, and Strictly champions Harry Judd and Louis Smith are joined by people’s champion Aston Merrygold to Rip It Up in an explosion of song and dance.

Keeeep Dancing is a fun weekly dance class for adults exploring a range of dance styles. There are regular Blow and Blast sessions for wind players and Horsecross Voices for anyone who loves to sing. Kids and little ones are catered for with a range of Join In activities from drama and dance classes to creative play for pre-schoolers.

Music lovers will be spoilt for choice with rock and pop legends including Richard Thomson, Marti Pellow, 10cc, The Osmonds, First Aid Kit and The Proclaimers in Perth Concert Hall. Following its successful relaunch in early 2018, The Monday Night Thing is back in Perth Theatre’s Joan Knight Studio with highlights including Roddy Woomble, Aidan Moffat, Daimh and Brian Kennedy. Tribute acts celebrate Elvis, The Bee Gees, Motown, Rod Stewart, Little Mix, The Beatles and Whitney Houston. Scotland’s top trad music performers will be honoured in the MG Alba Scot Trad Music Awards in Perth Concert Hall and top names from the trad scene and beyond will gather for No Man’s Land, a specially created show commemorating 100 years since Armistice Day.

In further tribute to The Great War, the National Theatre of Scotland and Perth Theatre’s co-produced trilogy, The 306 reaches its dramatic conclusion with The 306: Dusk, a new piece of music theatre about memory and forgetting, friendship and betrayal. The Dolls Dragged Up and The Glasgow Girls are perfect girls (and boys!) night out material.

Scotland’s second Women of the World Festival in Perth Theatre will bring together women and girls, and the men and boys who support them, from the communities of Perth and Kinross, Scotland and further afield.  Young people take centre stage again at UnCon 2.0, a celebration of Scotland’s young artists featuring live music, theatre, dance, film, literature and more, with and for children and young people aged 0-25.

Running throughout the autumn, New Order, Other Spaces in Perth Concert Hall’s Threshold artspace is a celebration of the gymnastic body as part of Festival 2018, the cultural programme that coincides with the European Sports Championship.

The irrepressible Sarah Millican leads the comedy offering which also features Jason Manford, Mock the Week’s Stuart Francis and rising Scottish star Daniel Sloss.

Perth Film Society launches a new season of films from across the world and there are many and varied talks and events including Around the World in 80 Days with Mark Beaumont and An Evening of Mediumship.
