The National Theatre of Scotland Engine Room in partnership with Luminate, and supported by Horsecross Arts, presents a discussion on how artists can sustain and develop their career in an industry obsessed with newness.

How can artists sustain a career and continue to develop their practice when they are no longer emerging? And how do artists coming to the industry later in life get a foot in the door?

In this session, Nicholas Bone – Magnetic North Artistic Director, will lead a discussion looking at how artists can sustain and develop their career in an industry obsessed with newness, with a specific focus on the effect on older artists, when “newness” and “youth” are conflated.

Speakers to be confirmed.

This event at 2pm in Perth Theatre on Wednesday 20 November is part of Engine Room: Sustaining.
