Perthshire-born actor Colin McCredie will host a free acting workshop as part of Perth Theatre’s project to celebrate St Johnstone Football Club and the fans who support it.

The lifelong Saintee will present Star of the Saintees Stage a taster acting session in Perth Theatre on Thursday 3 March, with participants having the opportunity to take to the stage in community show Oh When The Saints in June. The workshop is just one of a series of free Creative Fan Groups for anyone interested in the project, which is followed on Thursday 17 March with Songs for St Johnstone – an attempt to write a new team song, and then on Thursday 31 March by Perth Pundits when popular podcasters, Dogger Saints will seek out potential pundits and commentators who can make a big noise about the club.

Colin McCredie said:

“I’m absolutely delighted to be back at Perth Theatre where my love affair with theatre began working with local people to create a piece celebrating the city, the community and the mighty Perth Saints! It will be a taster of how much fun being part of a show celebrating Perth, the community and the best wee team in the country will be. Learn about acting, movement & a few football chants along the way!”

Sam from Dogger Saints said:

“It’s an absolute thrill to be asked by our friends at Perth Theatre to participate again, following our Team Talk evening last November. It’s been an absolute buzz starting our Podcast in the midst of Saints’s greatest ever season and continuing with it through the roller coaster of Cup success, European Ties and even the difficult situation the team currently finds itself in. We are absolutely thrilled and excited about chatting about St Johnstone and podcasting with likeminded fans. We'll have a real laugh, we'll talk nonsense, offer a bit of insight into the workings of the Podcast and hopefully there will be quality content for Oh When The Saints which we’re buzzing to be involved with.”
