Perthshire audiences have another opportunity to see one of Òran Mór’s legendary A Play, A Pie and a Pint productions in Birnam Arts Centre this April.

Featuring Benny Young from Perth Theatre’s award-winning production of The Seafarer and Lesly Hart, Love with a Capital L by Tony Cox is directed by Hamish Pirie and runs in Birnam Arts Centre from Monday 7 April until Friday 11 April.

Hilda Matheson, Head of Talks at the BBC in the 1920’s was committed to bringing listeners into contact with liberal thought and freedom of expression. But when she commissioned her lover Vita Sackville-West, and Vita’s homosexual husband, Harold Nicolson, to speak on the subject of ‘Marriage’, it was at least one step too far for Director-General John Reith. Hilda Matheson, Head of Talks at the BBC in the 1920s, was committed to bringing listeners into contact with contemporary liberal thought and freedom of expression.

The audience is invited to take a seat for a heated and frequently funny editorial meeting in Birnam and enjoy a pie and a pint while they watch.

Love with a Capital L is part of Perth Theatre’s Out and About series and is presented in collaboration with Òran Mór and Traverse Theatre.

Perth Theatre is going out and about around the area while the historic Edwardian theatre is closed for restoration and redevelopment. Perth Theatre is making theatre happen in pubs, village halls and community centres; bringing the theatre to audiences, in venues on their doorstep!
