Perth Theatre are delighted to be continuing their partnership project with Mindspace, offering creative writing workshops to anyone with lived experience of mental health issues.
Workshops will be led by Associate Artist Jane Archer, and will focus on writing for performance. Participants will develop their own writing skills, exploring writing for wellbeing, as well as the development of narrative, character, and drama. The project will culminate in a staged reading of work at Perth Theatre, performed by professional actors.
The project aims to develop creative writing skills, boost confidence, make space for creative expression, develop a sense of community amongst those who participate and support mental health and wellbeing.
Workshops will take place on Wednesdays 10.30am – 12.30pm at Perth Theatre on the following dates:
17th August – Thursday 6th October 2022
26th October – Friday 16th December 2022
11th January 2023 – 30th March 2023
If you’re interested in booking a place at the My Story, My Stage workshops you can sign up here.
Feedback from past participants:
"I feel supported, unjudged and my story is accepted and validated by others."
"I benefited from the power of other people's voices. It was wonderful and a privilege to be part of everyone else's story."
"This is something social, time just for me to express myself, that gives me a break away from full-time caring."
