In the year that marked the 100th anniversary since some women got the vote in the UK, and when #MeToo shook the world, we're bringing together artists, writers, politicians, comedians, activists and more for the 2nd edition of WOW Perth at Perth Theatre.
WOW – Women of the World Festival places the stories of women and girls front and centre whilst taking a frank look at the obstacles that stop them from achieving their potential. Talks, workshops, panel discussions, music and more, it's a festival for everyone and celebrates all those who identify as women, girls and non-binary, and the men and boys who support them.
Born at the Southbank centre in 2010, WOW had its Scottish premiere in 2017 which included The First Minister in conversation, A Menopause café and discussion with Kirsty Wark, comedy shows, panel talks, speed mentoring, a market place and much much more. From Karachi to Beijing, to Melbourne to Hull, since its inception, WOW has become a global network, and Perth is well and truly part of the movement.
Join us for a weekend of workshops that range from the practical ‘How to Change a Tyre’ to fun, 'Power Ballad Your Stress Away', there will be plenty of healthy debate, talks, music, activism, mentoring, pop-ups and performance when WOW comes to Perth for its second year on 29 and 30 September.
