Screen.Dance is a programme of events and awards dedicated to celebrating the art and creativity of innovative dance on screen. It is a unique event in Scotland and attracts many award-winning international films and artists.
Screendance is an expanding and exciting genre of artist’s moving image created by fusing choreography and dance with the language of cinema.
Screen.Dance is Scotland’s only festival of dance on screen sits within The Perth Dance Festival 19 with four screenings of short films from around the world, free public seminars of presentations from UK and international artists, a workshop with The Motion Dance Collective (https://www.motiondancecollective.com) and innovative installations. The festival takes place over 3 days at the newly renovated Perth Theatre, Mill street, Perth, Scotland.
This year we have a unique symposium opportunity for up to sixteen artists attending the festival to make presentations about their work. There will be four presentations sessions to share award-winning international artists’ perspectives and discuss the current state of the art of Screendance.
Festival passes for all events in the festival are available.
Films have been submitted in three categories: UK work; International work and Student work. Shortlisted films will be screened at public screenings over 2 evenings. There is a cash award and opportunity to be part of the permanent public collection at Threshold Artspace - Perth’s one of a kind museum of contemporary art. https://www.horsecross.co.uk/contemporary-art
