Fun Palaces 2021

This October Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre are inviting people across Perth and Kinross to get involved in Fun Palaces, a weekend of creativity run for and by the local community. Following the success of last year’s virtual festival, we can’t wait to welcome everyone into our venues to share a whole host of activities at this fun filled family event.

Our Fun Palace takes place on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 October from 10am-4pm in Perth Theatre, Perth Concert Hall and out in the community. We have everything from live music on the Perth Concert Hall Plaza, to drama workshops for kids, Climate Café discussions, yoga sessions, pumpkin planting workshops, filmmaking sessions, bike rides along the North Inch and backstage tours as well as lots of arts and crafts activities. This year we’re adopting a green and wellness theme as we look after our planet and ourselves as we emerge from the pandemic.

Perth Theatre’s Fun Palace is part of free, nationwide campaign that supports local people to co-create their own cultural and community events, sharing and celebrating the genius in everyone. Arts, science, craft, tech, digital, heritage, sports activities – and most importantly people – will work together, have fun together and in doing so will connect our own communities from the grassroots up. Since 2014 a total of 1758 Fun Palaces have been made across the UK and worldwide by over 40,000 local people with 560,000 people taking part, placing people at the heart of culture and culture at the heart of community.
