Chuck Prophet is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer who started his wild music business ride as a kid back in 1984 when Green On Red plucked him out of Berkeley, CA and threw him in the van for an eight-year ride and the recording of as many albums. Green On Red were seminal purveyors of American roots-rock and broke up in 1992 just before an entire movement followed in their wake.
Since then, Chuck has toured and recorded with Lucinda Williams, Aimee Mann, Alejandro Escovedo and Jonathan Richman while the likes of Ryan Adams, Solomon Burke and Heart have recorded his songs, along with a host of others.
On a red-hot creative streak over the past few records, particularly on his blistering latest, Bobby Fuller Died For Your Sins, Chuck is finally receiving the wider acclaim and audiences his music so richly deserves.
'powerful and personal, it's a persuasive protest tribute straight from the heart' The Independent
'ultimately, every track on this masterfully sculpted set courses with life-affirming pop-rock passion' Classic Rock
A huge hit on her Southern Fried debut in 2014, award-winning Canadian soul diva Cyndi Cain is a true showstopper. Exercising her powerful set of pipes since the age of three, this Nova Scotia soul singer and songwriter has been a performer her entire life. After mastering classic R&B influenced by Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Etta James and James Brown she has moved on to writing her own excellent original material in the same vein.
'like Candi Staton or Betty Wright, Cain's voice is evocative, whether raising goosebumps with a whisper or belting out a heart-wrenching refrain' The Coast
'her gutsy performance earned a standing ovation' The Chronicle Herald
Among the very best artists on the burgeoning UK Americana scene, Danni is a superb songwriter who blends country, folk and pop in some fantastic original material.
'effortlessly slips from smoky soul, folk-pop and heart-wrenching alt-country, all in a rich voice' Q
'one in a million' Maverick
The voices of Bristol duo Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler intertwine effortlessly in harmonies usually only heard in family bands. Together they create superb songs combining elements of folk, roots, alt-country and Americana.
If you ask the likes of Peter Buck, Willy Vlautin, Jay Farrar, or Kathleen Edwards they'll all agree that Peter Bruntnell is a writer with rare and mysterious qualities, his songs having the magical ability of locking into one's emotions in an intangible but deeply affecting way.
'one of the finest songwriters in Britain' The Independent
'one of England's best kept musical secrets' Rolling Stone
