Five star performers return

Following a five star Guardian review and further critical acclaim for the opening concerts of Mozart Music for Piano and Violin in Perth Concert Hall in November and December, pianist Susan Tomes and violinist Erich Höbarth return to the Fair City on Saturday 25 February for the third performance in the four-part series.

Over the season the two musicians, who've been friends for many years but rarely have a chance to work together, are presenting twelve of Mozart's sonatas for piano and violin along with some of his solo piano music.

Describing this welcome opportunity to collaborate on a project that means a lot to both of them Susan Tomes said:

"I love the music of many different composers, but always find myself coming back to Mozart.  For me his music has everything. Nobody else can quite do what Mozart does. I feel very lucky to be playing this wonderful music with Erich, a true Viennese musician whose understanding of Classical period works has always been an inspiration."

The concert includes Six variations in G Minor for piano and violin K360, Sonata in B Flat for piano K570, E minor duo sonata K304 and E flat major duo sonata K481.

Mozart Music for Piano and Violin is in Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 25 February at 7.30pm.  For tickets and info contact Horsecross Arts box office on 01738 621031, click here.
