Tommy Smith leads concert of brightest young jazz talent

Tommy SmithInternationally renowned Scottish saxophonist Tommy Smith is to lead some of the brightest young jazz talent in the country in an exciting show in Perth Concert Hall featuring players drawn from every conservatoire in the UK.

The Conservatoires UK All-Star Big Band will perform first as part of the Conservatoires UK Conference hosted during October by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.

The cream of jazz musicians from the RSAMD, TrinityLaban, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Leeds College of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music, the Royal College of Music , Birmingham Conservatoire and the Guildhall School of Music will perform in both Glasgow (October 29 at 1pm) and Perth (30 October at 7.30pm).

Both concerts promise to be very special with a scintillating programme representing the very best of jazz music, from its early beginnings through to the latest contemporary charts.
