Handel's Oratorio is deservedly one of the most popular works ever written. Handel's story of Christ's life is infused with the composer's deep sense of humanity. Dunedin presents this work in the atmospheric settings of St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral in Edinburgh and Perth's Concert Hall at a time of the year in which its life affirming message makes most sense, the celebration of Christmas.
Dunedin's unique approach to music making marries thorough scholarly research with exciting music making. Its performances have become a unique event. This performance is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Dunard Fund.
