Characters from Perth's Christmas musical were on hand at Rachel House on Wednesday to see Pinocchio settle into his new home in the gardens of the children's hospice in Kinross, run by the Children's Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).
Pinocchio (Donna Griffin) and the Blue Haired Fairy (Gayle Telfer Stevens) handed over the wooden carving of the much-loved wooden boy by chainsaw sculptor Peter Bowsher, which was specially commissioned by Horsecross Arts to promote the production of Pinocchio currently running in Perth Theatre.
Donna Griffin said:
"Pinocchio has done a great job welcoming visitors to Perth Theatre over the last few weeks and has proved very popular with theatre-goers - especially our young guests. We thought it would be nice to see him settled in his new home at Rachel House for Christmas and hope he gives the children here the same amount of pleasure he has given to the youngsters of Perth."
Dawn Entwistle, Deputy Director of Care at Rachel House said:
"Perth Theatre's generous donation has pride of place in the Rachel House garden. Pinocchio will bring a lot of joy to children and young people and their families visiting the hospice, and has arrived just in time for the Christmas party on Saturday."
The Horsecross Arts production of Pinocchio runs at Perth Theatre until Saturday 2 January. Tickets and information are available from Horsecross Box Office on 01738 621 031, or click here.
