Horsecross is teaming up with Scottish Opera for a Gala Night at Perth Concert Hall, featuring beautifully bite-sized morsels from the world's best-known operas.
The evening of easily digested entertainment, which takes place on Wednesday 1 April, will see Perth Concert Hall play host to the full Scottish Opera orchestra conducted by Antonello Manacorda. Soloists Sally Silver and Peter Auty will perform selected opera extracts - a perfect introduction to the delights of opera for all the family - with free tickets for kids!
Highlights include familiar tunes from La bohème, Macbeth, Lucia di Lammermoor, Otello and Nabucco.
Scottish Opera's General Director, Alex Reedijk said:
"The combination of the great Perth Concert Hall acoustics with the incredible sound of the full Orchestra of Scottish Opera and the soloists is sure to lead to a memorable performance. Experiencing selected highlights is an ideal way to enter the exciting and enchanting world of opera and I would thoroughly recommend the Gala Night to prospective and existing opera fans alike."
Soprano Sally Silver recently earned her trooper ‘stripes' when she injured her leg on stage with Scottish Opera during a performance of Lucia di Lammermoor in 2007 and soldiered on to complete the performance to rave reviews!
