World champion pipe band, the Bucksburn & District Junior Pipe Band has confirmed that it will perform with the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra in Perth Concert Hall on Saturday 6 December.
This is the only time this year that the two giants of the Scottish music scene will share a stage in what promises to be a great celebration of two of the most iconic Scottish traditional instruments.
As well as arrangements performed with the pipe band, the ninety-strong Scottish Fiddle Orchestra, under the baton of musical director John Mason, also welcomes singers Jim Nicol and Debra Stuart and Golden Fiddle Award winning performer Yla Steven.
Gordon MacGregor from The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra said:
"We only recently received confirmation that the Bucksburn & District Junior Pipe Band was available for this one-off performance. It is a great opportunity for us to play with the reigning World Champions and Champions of Champions. The combination of pipe band and orchestra creates an incredibly powerful sound."
The evening will be compered by Jim McColl MBE of BBC Television's Beechgrove Garden fame.
A collection for CHAS, the Children's Hospice Association Scotland, will be taken at the end of the concert.
The Scottish Fiddle Orchestra concert is one of a series of musical events taking place at Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre in the run-up to Christmas.
