More top music acts added to Perth Concert Hall programme

More music events have been added to the music programme at Perth Concert Hall this year.

90s indie pop band Ocean Colour Scene and Scouse five-piece The Zutons, who have smashed the charts with their unique "zombie soul music" will be performing at Perth Concert Hall in May.

While eighties pop giants Level 42, return to entertain audiences in November with their catchy and well recognised chart-topping tunes like Running in the Family and Lessons in Love.

It's great to be adding more rock music to the huge range of music, comedy, theatre, visual arts and community events that Horsecross presents, says Andy Shearer, creative director of music. Not only that, but we're satisfying three generations of fans with major acts of the 80s, 90s and today.

Horsecross is working with two of Scotland's major promoters to secure these gigs and so further enhancing Perth Concert Hall's growing reputation within the music business.

Andy continues: Regular Music and their artists which include The Proclaimers and Runrig, and DF Concerts who promote Belle and Sebastian were very impressed with the building, our staff and the enthusiasm of the concert hall’s audiences that they were both keen to return with more great music acts. We expect to be doing a lot more with them this year and beyond.

Who Killed The Zutons? was the debut album from The Zutons complete with the triumphant anthem Zuton Fever and sublime singles Pressure Point and You Will You Won’t. Their second album Tired of Hangin' Around is released this April and no doubt their gig in Perth on Wed 10 May will feature material from both.

It's hard to believe Ocean Colour Scene have been around for nearly 18 years. From humble beginnings in 1988 they have grown into one of the UK's most respected and consistently successful bands. Audiences can look forward to hearing a wide range of material in this acoustic set on Tue 16 May.

Later in 2006, Level 42 will help people re-live the 80s when they touch down in Perth on Wed 1 Nov. Book now to ensure you are guaranteed a seat for this must see gig!
