Access

We want your visit to Perth Theatre or Perth Concert Hall to be a delight. If you find anything puzzling, unhelpful, mysterious, or just plain bad, please tell us and we'll try to help.

Disabled-friendly

Both buildings are designed to be disabled-friendly and have stair lifts, lifts, induction loops, infra-red enhanced hearing systems and staff who are trained to help.

Audio description

For plays in the subscription season a trained team describe the action on stage to visually-impaired patrons in the audience through headsets. Description begins ten minutes before curtain up with scene-setting and programme notes on the last Thursday and last Saturday matinee.

Touch tours

These are an innovative way for visually-impaired people to have the full theatre experience. Groups can feel the sets and costumes and have all the aspects of the production and staging described to them. The tours take place on the same dates as audio description and are free. Contact Jen Hoy to book a place.

Audio brochure

A talking version of this brochure is available. Contact Jen Hoy or box office for a copy.

Audio bus transport

If you are visually-impaired we offer a bus service direct to your door. The bus runs on the same dates as audio description, and costs £2 for a return ticket. To book a seat call Jen Hoy.

Sign-language interpretation

For plays in the subscription season plays are sign-interpreted using British Sign Language on the last Saturday matinee. Box office can advise on the best seats to view the interpreter.

Induction loop and infra-red hearing

Our induction loop is in use for most performances. Just turn your hearing-aid to the 'T' position. Ask at box office for seats with the best reception. For those who do not have a hearing-aid, headsets are available to enhance the sound from stage. Ask an usher or box office on arrival.

Guide dogs and hearing dogs

All guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome in both the theatre and the concert hall.

Family-friendly

We have booster seats for little ones in the theatre and concert hall; our cafe bars and restaurants provide high chairs, bottle warming, and we're breast-feeding friendly. There are baby-changing facilities for men and women to use in both buildings.
